Visita Iglesia Online

The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) launched Visita Iglesia - a website that offers "virtual experience of celebrating Lent, the Holy Week and Easter". This was designed to enable overseas Filipino workers and those who are physically impaired to attend the liturgical celebrations in church.

The website features 14 very beautiful churches in our country to correspond with the 14 Stations of the Cross. A reflection for each Station is also provided for the "online churchgoer". It also has a section on the Seven Last Words (Siete Palabras) and the Passion (Pasyon).

While this website could be very convenient for every Catholic who observes the traditions of Lent, CBCP Media Director Bishop Quitorio is quick to say that it is not to be used as an alternative by those who are physically able to attend the Lent services in their respective parishes.
